Posted on July 31, 2021 by Cindy

Nettle syrup is SO delicious that you just want to drink cold drinks. For a teetotaler this is a nice change in hot sweaty summer days

Very content with the result. This was one of the embroidery projects that filled me with delight. I wanted to work on it as much as I could. Cycling through Bosnia and Hercegovina started with this project, and when having coffees it was taken out of the panniers. Sometimes people would comment on my work: it is unusual to see someone not having a phone in their hands. Here's a good compilation of how a design grows. I made a drawing, copied it onto the fabric (handdyed with sumac) and when it was done (in phulkari stitch) I was far from happy with it. It lay around for a few months. Upon coming back from a fantastic cycling tour but also having caught a massive cold, I saw what was needed. Hungarian summer, hot and colourful. The embroidering goes on (now I have knitted enough garments). I divided the garden in half for one part flowers only and I gained even more time to sit and embroider. Cycling Cindy her legs are strong and bruised. The biggest bruise appeared after Geo lifted the fully loaded bicycle over the guardrail dividing two lanes with fast driving traffic to and from Sarajevo. I would never do such a thing, and in all my tranquility I got really stressed out by standing on the wrong side of my bicycle and not knowing what to do: cycle to the other side, or running with the bicycle in my hand, but on the wrong side of my body, which makes it very awkward to maneuver. With fast approaching cars and trucks and Geo yelling in stressed out unbelieve, I chose to first get to the correct side of my bicycle and made a dash for the other side. It worked out, I am still alive. Only some more bruises. #cyclingstyle #bruised #embroiderydesign #bicycletouring #dinaricalps #viadinarica #fietsvakantie #fahrradfahrenmachtglücklich #adventurousgirl #getoutside #bicycleride Every single moment, every morning and every evening I embroidery. It seems the harder the journey, the more I feel for an opposite. The places I get to camp are often with splendid views. Even through the mesh of my tent views are pretty, some places even come with a little stream to wash the sweat of a day cycling (or pushing up a 1000 meter) away. What is better for the eyes to embroider at such spots? Cycling with all four panniers in the mountains of Bosnia is not an easy outing. But even would I have a bikepack set-up or walk, I still wouldn't be able to pull it off.
