Atacama desert

Posted on April 20, 2021 by Cindy

The absolute favorite ride of my 5 years cycling through 45 countries was the Atacama desert in Chile.

New blogpost: wanting to be on the smallest of paths but never able to (because I haul a trailer or am with a bicycle), I finally came to realise that I have to shed the worries about having not enough food while out on the trail. It sure is a stripping down of whatever I should be able to go without. It turns out that with only a backpack, what I leave out most is food. Winged Reflection honors it name because off she flies, all the way to the United States of America. That's a mighty long way for a beetle. Some trips are remembered for the oddest of things. Jacksonville in Florida was such a journey. We didn't want to be there in the first place. Since we were on kickbikes, I brought tendonitis on my ankles and we sat this long lasting inflammation out in the woods. Covid came and stayed. So did we in the woods where we camped. Meanwhile we needed to charge our cellphones and in doing so I sat at the tennis court. I was for the first time in my long travel and cycling history realising how it feels to be actually seen as homeless. There's so incredible much going on in this photo that I don't know where to start?! Shall I begin with the huge appetite I feel? Or with the fact that I post a photo with food again. Why do I even do that? 'The Gorgeous Uzbeki Girl' is the name of this new pouch. A rather odd name but, as usual, there is a story behind this. I am writing it now and soon this new pouch with it's interlaced embroidery and long tassels will be available online.
