At this very moment we are house sitting, to see whether Italy suits us. So far, the winter hasn’t been better than in Hungary. And as in every January I dream of sunny places elsewhere on earth, if it weren't for the variety of animals we may care for. Meanwhile, I embroider, whether we housesit … Continue reading New Year Newsletter

Our housesitting comes to an end in a week. I think my project, which has no name yet but which might be called 'Il Banditos' will be finished as well. It took me long to finish this pulkari design on hand dyed fabric, mostly because I was just very occupied with other things. Cold temperatures, warm hearts, misty days and views from up high. Cold walks and burning heat tempered by a cool pool. Soft paws and woolly fur. Trying Pilates and happy faces instead. That is housesitting in a nutshell. One of my favourite so far was here. Went for a walk and made it a task to find material for a new embroidery project. The hills of Marche provided me with a lot of shells. I need to drink a lot of cappuccinos to see a bit of progress in this embroidery. The fine stitches promises a captivating composition yet it'll take time to become a coherent picture. We are housesitting and one thing that hits me harder now we are away from our home is the loss of our own cats. To Geo and me, 'losing' them has made our house not a home anymore. So, watching other people's dogs and cats really is a solution for the time being. When the cat takes over, the embroidery needs to stop.
